Jason Taylor Foundation Charity Event

My sister and I volunteered at a charity event for The Jason Taylor Foundation. The Jason Taylor Foundation supports and creates programs that facilitate the personal growth and improvement of South Florida’s children in need by focusing on improved health care, education and quality of life. Check it out and help support the kids... www.JasonTaylorFoundation.com .  What a wonderful event it was and a beautiful day to be playing tennis with the kids. It was last Thursday night and their Second Annual Katina Taylor Spin-a-Thon and Cardio Tennis Camp for Kids!  It was a great success! Check out a few pictures from the event...  

Vacations and excersise

Sometimes it is hard to stay motivated to workout when you go on vacation.  I just recently went to Florida to visit my sister.  When you first get there you are more motivated then at the end of your trip. I always work out when I go on vacation now.  It was so nice running around my sisters development and seeing the scenary while getting excercise. I continue to say that working out and exercising has to be in your mind set daily.  If you get to that point then it will only be natural that you will think about exercising when you go on vacation.  Now the trick is to make sure you execute some type of routine when you get to that vacation spot.  You should first take a tour of your hotel, resort etc to find the gym and then set up a plan for yourself.  When I go on vacation I tend to do a lighter version of my routine which I find works for me.  I will always incorporate some cardio because I know there will be some unhealthy foods that...

How I feel about fitness!

If I knew then what I know now, I would have changed my lifestyle a long time ago and this competition has brought so many positive things into my life.  I feel like it’s only the beginning of a lifestyle change for me even though I have come so far in the past 16 weeks of my transformation.  I have the bodybuilding.com competition to thank for getting me interested and then also bodybuilding.com for having an incredible website to keep you in touch with others who have similar goals as you.  I love that there is a site where everyone just is so pumped about fitness!   I also have to say when or if people ask what you are doing when they see you eating healthy they really have a tendency just to try to knock you down.  I guess that is what this world has come to where eating healthy is definitely not the norm.  I have always been just "skinny" my entire life until the past few years as my metabolism has started to change and I started to gain...

Welcome to my website

If I knew then what I know now, I would have changed my lifestyle a long time ago.  I have always been just "skinny" my entire life until the past few years as my metabolsm has started to change. I started to gain weight and it literaly just creeped up on me.  5lbs turned into 10lbs and then 15lbs and that is when I said to myself, I have to stop this now before 15lbs turns into 50lbs!!   I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and not gain any weight.  Now if you think about it, as I have started to now, eating anything I wanted kept me skinny by my metabolm but I was far from healthy.  I do not believe in fad diets.  If you are just looking for that “quick fix” to lose weight and do not want a lifestyle change that is what you hear most people doing for just that one summer vacation they may have.  I look at it like I want to maintain healthy lifestyle by eating and training healthy that way I do not bounce back and forth with my body. 

Being in shape and having a toned body is much different then just being “skinny”.  It gives that overall look and feel of being toned and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn per day.  Now everyone has their own end goal in mind.  It doesn’t mean that your end results have to be the same as mine but means you reach the goal you set in your mind and also try to go passed that because I bet you can.  My end goal was to gain muscle and lose fat.  I wanted to look as fit and toned as I could while still keeping that girlish figure.  One huge misconception is if you lift heavy as a girl you will start to look like a bodybuilder.  You can use me as an example, that won’t happen unless you are taking some other suppliments as it is not genetically possible for a girl to just look like that.  It takes a lot of hard work and months of training.  It won’t just happen over night so you can lift as heavy as you want to get that toned physique!
